I'm really happy about this. I really like the PS3/Vita sprites even more than the PS2 ones (with the exception of Akasaka, but Mion and Keiichi's PS3 sprites are great enough to make up for it). What I'm doing right now is trying to start an English translation project/port for Miotsukushi-hen (a console-only arc that's only ever been released in Japanese, but is an alternate ending to the entire series versus Matsuribayashi-hen and has a lot more plot points to deal with). I'm currently in the process of transcribing all of the scenes from the original (PS3/Vita version) in Japanese - which takes forever, by the way - so that I can try to get it translated, then throw it into ONScripter or something. I'm glad you're interested, as that gives me a lot of motivation to perservere. I don't have much Japanese language proficiency - I played through Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Sui and managed to understand what was happening, but mostly because I know Chinese and recognize some basic hiragana phrases in Japanese - and Miotsukushi-hen, the new Yoigoshi-hen, and Tomoe's arcs were among my favorites. I'm hoping I can get some actually Japanese-proficient folks on board to contribute via Google Drive or something.
