Praxis Program Victoria

Posted on by

Praxis Studio is an exhibition of new works by contemporary Los Angeles artists that speaks to ways in which the arts can deeply connect to community engagement and the context in which it is created. Artists EJ Hill, Mario Ybarra Jr., Ana Llorente, Hazel Mandujano & Juan Capistran created new work for the exhibition including drawings, sound sculpture, design and painting. Curated by Big City Forum founder and director Leonardo Bravo, Praxis Studio culminates the artists’ four separate artist-in-residence projects that took place at CSUDH during 2016-2017 as part of an art in engagement pilot program with the same name. The one-year extracurricular, cross-disciplinary arts and design program was developed by Los Angeles artist and CSUDH assistant professor Devon Tsuno in partnership with Big City Forum.
